Once again, or twice in less than one year, sources within the current village administration have indicated problems, as another service for materials was temporarily suspended and other vendors are close to not delivering goods and/or services due to lack of bill paying. Though the village board did make a reasonable attempt to balance the 2010 budget, lack of adequate spending controls and sound financial discipline have caused financial turmoil.

The village continues to blame the state for the board’s financial troubles, calling out the lack of state reimbursement, to the village, through revenue sharing.  However, the administration forgets to mention the board would have been able to weather the financial storm had they not spent the village’s projected 2008 surplus late in the year on unnecessary projects.

Hopefully the board will prevail in this perpetual problem, as payroll will become a possible difficulty in late 2010.
